Scandinavian Open Fundraiser Disc Ballista

The Ballista will fly like a more understable World. Very, very fast with a slight turn for the average player.

The Ballista is a special fundraiser disc that will not be released as a regular item until 2016. For the PDGA Major Scandinavian Open, Latitude 64 has produced 3,000 Snow Ballistas that have a numbered DecoDye stamp ranging from 1/3000 to 3000/3000. Latitude 64º has produced a special fundraiser disc for the event, the Snow Ballista. This disc that will not be released as a regular item until 2016. But, for the PDGA Major 2015 Scandinavian Open, Latitude 64º has produced 3,000 Snow Ballistas that have a numbered DecoDye stamp ranging from 1/3000 to 3000/3000. Latitude 64º encourages purchasers to keep track of their numbered discs as they will be having a lottery to give away free discs and mystery packs with the biggest prize being worth $1000.00. Once again Skellefteå Discgolf has been awarded with a PDGA Major event.

The club has organized PDGA Majors both in 2008 and 2010 with huge success. We had one of the biggest galleries in disc golf history following the finals, with close to 1000 paying visitors, and a few hundred every qualifying day.

Looking forward to 2015, with the help from many local sponsors and Big sponsors like Latitude 64° and Polfärskt AB, it will be even better. The course will have some small changes since the last time, but nothing dramatic. A few holes have been redesigned and reconstructed to spice up the already difficult and challenging course. The holes will have an average distance of 159,4m (523ft.), but apart from being just long, good placement and smart play is the key if you want to master the course. In Skellefteå we don't believe in manufactured OB areas. We want the player to play from the position they have put themselvs in. Of course will we have OB's as well, 'cause we have water hazards, roads to protect etc. You're not going to lose this tournament on multiple penalty shots. Instead you will win the tournament on smart game play, solid fairway shots and the skills needed to recover from bad breaks.

This year the starting field is set to 160 players, divided in two divisions (MPO and FPO). Registration is based on rating and will start with the highest rated players and we will open up more spots for lower rated players on a monthly basis.
